What microbicidal effectiveness has been proven for Chronos?

Chronos® emits an energy wavelength of 254 nm of UV-C and the dosage emitted inside the chamber is part of a proprietary algorithm owned by Germitec and tested extensively - Yuvee®. The microbicidal efficacy of Chronos® has been independently tested, following standards set by leading regulatory authorities worldwide. Its disinfection effectiveness has been tested on bacteria, fungi, viruses including highly transmissible, resistant HPV^2,3, and spores.

What are Chronos® legal requirements?

In Europe, our solution has a IIb medical device classification and is CE0459 marked by the GMED. Through the De Novo classification process, FDA concludes that this device should be regulated under Regulation Number 21 CFR 880.6511 and classified as a Class II medical device.

What are the occupational health and safety benefits of using UV-C HLD?

Unlike traditional chemical-based disinfection, UV-C HLD is chemical-free and does not produce harmful fumes or residues, making it safe for healthcare professionals and patients. It improves Quality of Work Life (QWL) as it eliminates risks associated with handling and storing chemicals, reducing the likelihood of accidents or exposure.

How does the UV-C HLD mitigate environmental impacts?

What training and accreditation are mandatory to use Chronos®?

Germitec offers comprehensive training and accreditation programs for healthcare professionals using Chronos®. User training is conducted during the installation and digital training is available 24/7 on our website, including best practices for UV-C HLD, videos, references guides, safety guidelines, and infection control protocols. A comprehensive e-training presentation with a Competency Assessment checklist is also available.
