A world leader in UV-C
high-level disinfection

As a world innovator in UV-C high-level disinfection (HLD) for reprocessing non-lumen medical devices, Germitec is committed to developing, manufacturing, and commercializing HLD devices that radically simplify the work of healthcare professionals, make examination settings safer, faster, traceable, and chemical-free.

Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology

Two concepts inspire the innovators at Germitec.

We start with germ, or a microorganism that can cause disease. We pair germ with tec, from technology, which evokes art, skill,  and new ideas. Together they form Germitec, representing the art and skill of fighting disease-causing microorganisms. Disinfection innovation that eradicates germs enables Germitec to support healthcare professionals around the world, helping them to ensure patient safety during ultrasound exams.

Our history

Since Germitec’s founding in 2005, our work has been reviewed and recognized by Public Health England, NHS Scotland, Health Canada, and leading laboratories and scientific centers in France, Germany, Australia, and the United States. Germitec won the prestigious Prix Galien award for Best Medical Device in 2020. We meet ISO 13485 highest standards and levels of verification in achieving a comprehensive quality management system for the design and manufacture of innovative medical devices.

The global healthcare sector is responsible for about 5% of the world’s net carbon emissions.

Most hospital administrators welcome the opportunity to reduce their emissions output and save money. Germitec’s Earth-friendly disinfection systems help administrators achieve environmental and cost-saving goals.

We are committed to making
disinfection processes safer and faster for patients
and healthcare professionals.

When evaluating disinfection methods, healthcare professionals consider patient and staff safety, workflow efficiency, cost, and sustainability. Addressing these considerations is central to our mission and our product innovation. UV-C disinfection requires minimal human interaction, which reduces the potential for error and lowers costs. Our devices use no chemicals — UV-C is a germicidal light energy disinfection method — and thus present zero risk of chemical pollution or skin burns from harsh cleansers.
